Type 2 Error

Post by jailes » Wed Nov 27, 2002 2:48 pm

I have had 3 severe crashes in Live, resulting in a Type 2 Error.

-Powerbook 666, 512 MB
-Motu 828
-Live 1.5.2
-Peak LE

I think the problem is related to using Peak LE as the audio editor when I'm recording with Live.

The crash occurs after 2 or 3 back and forths between Peak and Live on the same Clip.

Also, Peak LE doesn't have ASIO support so that may be related to the problem as well.

Does live have a recommended Audio Editor that doesn't crash.

Also, does live work well with USB Flash Drives? I need to create A Ram disk everytime i run a project, and i thought this might be a good, cheap solution.

If you are running Live through ASIO and PeakLE through the OS9 SoundManager, there's no telling what will happen.

Have you tried running them both under Sound Manager? :D

I think you've got something there.

If sm is piped through my 828, and Peak favors that configuration, it makes for a pretty sticky switch back and forth.

any idea if Peak 3.0 supports asio?

peak 2.5.2 runs pretty well, and supports Asio. After configuration of Peak close it, and restart. Programm doesn't like switching between SM an Asio.
