OK, this is simple. I feel stupid as I can't figure out why this is happening:
I have a MIDI track with simpler, loaded with a sample and there's a clip already recorded into the arrangement view with MIDI notes within that clip.
I'd like to add some more MIDI notes on top of the ones already recorded by playing my keyboard over the top of the existing notes and building up the clip
I arm the track, turn on the overdub button so its yellow, then click play, hoping any new notes I play will be recorded into the existing clip.
But no luck. Live isn't recording the notes I'm playing into the clip. (Its playing them just not recording) If I use the record button it wipes over the existing recorded clip. My Midi keyboard works fine, its just Live won't record the overdub!!!! Some times this happens and sometimes it just works other times. Any one got any ideas?
Overdubbing MIDI notes doesn't work?

Hi Defiant Kinetic,
normally a new arrangement clip should be generated containing both the existing and your new recorded notes. Which version of Live do you use?
Best,
Jörg
