errm.. they're still working on 7.0.xx, infact there is a beta for 7.0.12 i think ?

I'd rather them iron out 7 then release the C74 stuff... and then really rework live from the ground up to make live 8.
Macbook 1.83ghz. Ableton Live 8 :-). Guitars and keys and retro sh*t.

If they remove the 128 vst parameter limit, then a resounding YES

While I'd rather have the Abes take their time and put out the next update when it's good and ready, I also can't help that I'm excited to see the next version - anticipating/hoping for both cool new stuff as well as my usual wishlist of "basics" I'd like to see finally implemented. Seeing other software versions come out around this time just hightens the anticipation, but I'd rather wait a little longer in order to get a better release.

Easier to implement things will get done and more needed features sidelined, Abes already said that some of the most requested features, audio crossfading, automation in session ect. will take a major code overhaul and with cycling74 on board they prob have a lot on their plate, so take your time guys.
+1

I think it's nice having a break from the upgrade machine that's been CRANKIN' the past few years.
Besides L7 has me pretty happy :P

It;s getting near the tine of a rebuild from the ground up but that's not always a good thing.

Cubase VST5 still had several great features that are missing even though there have been 4 versions since the original SX rebuild. And some of the new stuff is arguably not as good as what was in the old build GUI and workflow wise, revolutionary ideas such as mediabay, which is actually shite and just slows everything down and is as buggy as hell.

To incorporate some of the new features, it may well have to be rebuilt to future proof it, but expect the first couple of rebuilds to be be buggy and have a lot of broken or missing features until they fine tune it over a number of years.

Why can't there just be a 7.5 this year that is free for all 7 users?

Except the release was a complete nightmare (not enough boxed copies, not enough manuals, couldn't handle the volume of upgrades etc) and they didn't sort the mess out until the end of January - which is when I'd put the real release date of Live 7 as.

So I'd say its not due yet, even with a yearly update.

Not to mention the personal letter from Gerhard. I think my box arrived in February or something.
