McCain's conceding speech was great. His supporters scare me though, so much anger, and he did have a hand in that.
that was really it - he was positive all the way and never lost his rag - this is why it's so exciting, it's like a turn from the oppressive fear oriented shit of the Bush years

The United States (and the world) still has to make it through 76 more days of Bush.

He isn't running for office and he can't harm his party any more at this point, so these last few months could possibly be the worst.

I've been quite cynical this whole election.
I'll continue to be cynical, probably for another four years.
But this result is so much better than the idea of having Palin
so close to the throne.
It also has overtones of any number of good things to come.

Way to go USA.
Congratulations and god speed along the road to recovery.

I second all that.
I predict the next 4 years is going to thrust the seriously ignorant and scary into the spotlight because the McCain campaign and fear of a black president broke the chain off their cellar door. It will be a period of painfully fake political correctness.

I love how he invoked the 106 yo black woman in his speech. The Anti-Joe-the-Plumber.

lame duck congress though.... but yeah, a long time to have an unrestrained bush/cheney combo with nothing to lose
