Last night I saw the legend of Hip-Hop in the UK that is Tim Westwood on Pimp My Ride - they put a wood effect shrink (w)rap(

) onto some alloy wheels.
This got me thinking...
Could this same shrink wrap be used to cover a midi controller? I'd love a wood effect/chrome effect/marble effect UC-33e.
Should be easy, right? Just take off the faceplate of the UC-33e and lay the shrink wrap over the top and go to town with a hair dryer. Then just cut out the holes/slots for the faders and knobs with a craft/stanley knife.
What d'you think?

Interesting - I'd be up for doing that too! But is the UC-33e case a faceplate? I thought it's more of a full case and if you take it off you'll be looking at the gubbins underneath...? In which case, build a 3-d case yourself, or stick a self-adhesive vinyl sheet over the existing plastic - wood effect or marble effect. Latter option would be way easier and might actually look ok (at least in the low light of a club)

The UC-33e is a case - put the insides can be removed (see Uc-33 Paint Mod
HERE)
Stick back plastic won't go round the corners or the edges of the controller...
(Also - this is not Blue Peter!

Can't be Blue Peter; we've no use for PVA glue and a washing-up liquid bottle!
That Axiom is SWEET, too. I might have to 'pimp' my Oxygen 8 with with something similar. Maybe a nice red felt velour...

You can get contact paper at Home Depot or Lowes or related places. Some craft stores carry it too, I think. That's what they've used on the Axiom above (though I think it clashes a bit aesthetically).

This would look so tacky on a BCR2000...
I may do just that when I get mine.
