I was looking at getting the Alesis ControlPad. Is anyone using one of these with Native Instruments Battery 3? I was hoping to be able to use it in the way, but wasn't sure what the latency would be like? I'm on a MacBook Pro and it uses USB to connect to the computer.
Thanks guys.

Re: Alesis ControlPad
Just started working with a guy who uses one. We run it through my pro with Battery in Live. Latency is decent.
Problems we have:
The control pad will drop notes, apparently thinking they are ghost notes, and not triggering the high hat for instance. Might be able to solve this buy getting the drummer to turn down the sensitivity on the pads.
The USB is class compliant supposedly to OSX, but either Apple or Alesis have dropped the ball a bit here. Admittedly I have gobs of crap attached to the USB ports (Remote SL, USB hub with two hard drives, XSkey, Logitech mouse, Midisport, Kore 1, Pad Kontrol etc.) but everything else plays nice....... SO I don't connect it via USB, works fine with regular MIDI.
I think if you're talking two or three devices, it should work fine.

I like mine, but i essentially wanted it for drum programming so I have time to go in and fix things if I want.
It does miss notes and the pad sensitivity control is not great. i don't think I'd want to be using it Live to play drums.
I connect via midi, latency is acceptable but still mildly, annoyingly, noticeable. Again I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable live.
But it does what it says on the tin.

Re: Alesis ControlPad
my drum kit presets are really werid with impluse. i've tried scrolling through all the drum kit pad presets and some samples will work on random pads and some do not get assigned in the particular kit i'm in. very odd indeed. However, I can midi map anything I want to any pad and all is fine.
I would like to figure out if I can use multiple drum kit presets (aka scroll from one set of 8 pads to the another set of 8 pads in the same Live file). In order to assign more than 8 functions to 8 pads.. More like 32 assignments to 32 to pads in 4 drum kit presets...
I guess I'm simplying asking if their is a scroll function for pad assignments.
