I am having problems getting Live to slave properly to Cubase SL.
I have the uploaded the latest patches of each, Cubase SL 1.0.5.58, and Live 1.5.2, however when I open Cubase first and activate Rewire channels, and then open Live, I get an error message from Live saying:
"Detected problems with Rewire master application. Live will not behave correctly. Please see the manual addendum section on solving Rewire slave problems."
I thought the new Live patch was supposed to solve the initial Rewire problems...and where is the manual addendum section? Its not in my printed manual, and even if it was, it would probably be out of date anyway.
Has anyone else experienced similar problems, and can anyone suggest what to do to fix it?
Cheers

Problem with Cubase SL / Live / Rewire
Hi Pramesh,
Firstly, the manual addendum is an additional pdf documentation file included in the 1.52 update. It doesn't exist as a printed version.
I will try to reproduce the problem you described with version 1.0.5.58 of Cubase and Live 1.52.
Please tell me therefore on which platform do you work?
regards
Alex

After speaking to Steinberg support, I managed to solve the problem.
Basically, it was due to the fact that I had installed Live first on my machine, and then Cubase. This causes problems with Rewire apparently, leading to the problems that I stated earlier.
So the solution is to un-install both programs, and then re-install Cubase first, and then Live. Apparently, this problem occurs with other Rewire applications such as Reason as well.
Anyway, know you know, in case anyone else has had the same problem.
Cheers
