Thanks for the tip, i tried it, recorded the clips (with rim) at 120, load one in ableton, adjusted the warp markers, but for some odd reason all clips play at 60 bpm... while i recorded the master clip at 120?? this can't be adjusted because the master clip masters the tempo..suie_paparude wrote:lola wrote:Too bad beatrepeat and delays won't be affected by that groovesuie_paparude wrote:try sample producer's goldbaby freebie mpc templates that can be loaded in live.these are midi files.
http://www.goldbaby.co.nz/freestuff.html
to apply all these mpc quantize settings try this :
1.load a rim stick sound in a sampler.
2.load a midi file from goldbaby and play that rim stick sound
3.render audio
4.manual edit warp markers for the rendered file to match exactly the rim stick sounds.
5.copy the sound clip in the arrangement on an audio track and loop it for several measures
6.set the master tab to "on" in clip properites
this clip int he first track of your arrangement will behave like a groove template for all your arrangement and will force-control tempo of your song in order to behave like the original mpc midi file.
you can consider this first track like a master track that controls your swing for all the other tracks
in this way all your audio and midi clips that you will bring in the arrangement will have mpc feel)
hope this helps

I think beat repeat and delays ARE affected by the groove.
Master clips are dealing with automating the tempo according to warp markers so,
if you watch the tempo values , they change very rapidly according to your warp master clip's markers and also you can se the red automation dot in the tempo display.
beat repeat and delays are tempo related and they change in relation with tempo value change.
i think it's a nice workaround from ableton in fact it's more creative, playing with master clip's markers i can create groove templates of my own,and saving the clips as groove templates for further use in my songs.
in fact you can have from measure 1-to 16 for example mpc 60 feel and from 16- to the end half speed dubstep feel or anything you can find good sounding after playing with master clip's warp markers.
it's nice to hear your whole song's feel is changing only moving a little bit one marker.
hope this helps,
