Dave Smith Evolver desktop?

Post by Incornsyucopia23 » Sun Nov 16, 2008 10:19 pm

I've found one for sale for $450 CAN and am seriously considering getting it. What thinks you all? The reviews look really good and for being in pretty much mint condition it looks to be a good deal. Advice?

I did like you and got a used one for the same price....

It is something worth owning, especially if it is your only analog synth, cause that little desktop unit is capable of a lot of nastyness.... and you have lots to try out with this baby... but I think I may have prefered a Mofo, I love the tone of the Prophet, if you like thick smooth drones drenched in resonance... :)

I like my Evolver, very much, it is very nasty and distorted, from lofi digital to evocative analog, I control it using my pcr-30... anyway good entry into analog.

The Evolver desktop is the only synth I ever bought and DIDN'T sell. Easily my favorite synth. So many possibilities with modulation and textural things like feedback networks, etc.
