Back and Front ??

Post by britesc » Mon Nov 17, 2008 11:46 am

Hi,

Please could someone advise me how to position a sound so that it appears either back or forward in the stereo field?

I want to make it so that a parcticular sound appears either more towards the fromt of the stage or further back than other instruments etc.
Thaks and kind regards,

jB

I find the Utility with one side Phased really puts the sound right to the back of my skull. Try it!

In addition to what was mentioned...

As a general rule, cutting the highs will make things blend in and cutting lows will make things stick out. Boosting 4k to 6k may help move things forward as well, although it depends on the instrument. Compression, when done right, will also make things pop out at you.
