hopefully Ableton adds a more flexible system for saving presets in future updates. I have spoken with Ableton about it and they agreed that it's not yet possible.

the most annoying thing for me is that all the samples are stored at the system drive on which the os is installed. most people who use lots of samples will use a second drive for all their patches and samples.

installation routines can be a difficult. at the moment I only think that Refill, SF2 or Gig is fine. SF2 is still tricky because it depends on filtering implementation of the application.

We have not encountered this problem on any machine during testing. Any current version of Stuffit Expander should work fine. If anyone else is having this problem please let us know. I will look into it in the meantime. Direct support questions to us via email at:

Hello raapie,

We are aware of the limitations of Live's current handling of presets and we are dedicated to providing the best solution possible for users while working with those limitations.

As Ableton makes improvements to this portion of Live we will be able to have more control, flexibility and integration.

So as Live gets better, so will LiveFill.

Thanks Again,

heya...

i like your demo... very nice.

just something you may want to look at RE: installation.

Your installer actually recognised my Live 2.1 digidesign version as the current version.... above live 3, live 4, and all the betas i have had installed.

i manually shifted all the presets, but thought you may like to look at this in your installer program.

i run os 10.6

cheers,

Thanks for your feedback. I have updated the demo installer. It will now ignore any OEM versions of Live installed on your system.

The demo version automatically installs to the most current version of Live 4 on your system. The full version allows you to choose any version of Live 4 you want.

Thanks am,

Thanks for providing this excellent demo. It's a great way to expand Live's capabilities.

I installed the demo as suggested in the instructions (for 4.04) using OSX 10.3.5 on a 1ghz Powerbook.

However, the installer didn't automatically place the files in Live. In fact, it didn't work at all. So I manually transferred all of the files from the demo folders into my Live 4.04 folders. It works fine....but not via the installer.

I thought you might like to know this.

Hello Mitchell,

Thanks for the feedback and for checking it out. There was a small problem with the demo that was up earlier in the day. I fixed and updated the demo that is on the site. Perhaps you have the previous one. The post above this one covers the same issue.

You will need to download the new demo from the site.

Let me know if that solves your problem. In the future please direct all support issues to us via email at: info//@//trackteamaudio.com

Thanks Again,

Ok, there was an issue with the Mac Demo that was up on the site earlier. Everything should be working properly now.

If you had a problem you will need to download the new demo from the site. Sorry about the confusion.

Thanks to those who brought the issue to my attention.

OK, maybe I'm missing something, but I installed the Mac demo yesterday and it didn't work. I saw today that there was a problem with the Mac demo installer, so I downloaded it again, installed, and it still didn't work. The only items available from the Simpler menu are "Factory Settings", "Alison" and "Clicky". I tried loading the samples into the Simpler window directly from Live 4's Devices menu and I'm hoping that a correctly installed demo sounds much better than the unprocessed, crude samples I just heard. Is there a trick way of installing this demo?

the installer works great here on XP.
pretty handy too... i'd like to see more companies using this kind of installer, it sure streamlines things and makes breezing through sample packs well, a breeze!

good luck with your endeavors!

Something is most definitely wrong. The current Mac demo on the site has been tested and seems to be working just fine. If the sounds appear "crude & unprocessed" you are obviously missing the appropriate .asd and/or .adv files. This was the problem with the previous broken demo.

1. When you launch the installer, what version of Live does it say it will be installing for?
2. Are you using that version when trying to load the patches?
3. Have you ejected the disk image and trashed the .dmg file from the non-working demo you downloaded?
4. Are you sure you have the most current version of the installer? It was last updated at around 11PM Eastern U.S. time.

In case there is actually a problem be aware that the installer creates a backup of your previous user presets in your home folder.

Any feedback on the matter is appreciated. Please direct support to:

Thanks.

Maybe it is just me but I did not exactly see a good description of what this tool is supposed to do on the website. Does anybody have a simple explanation?

Thanks.

The installer message says "Preparing Tacklebox Demo for Ableton Live 4.0b9".
I am running Ableton Live 4.0.4, the current production version of Live.
Even after removing previous Live preference files from Library>Preferences>Ableton, the installer still sees a previous beta version. Any ideas?
