Render>> crashes Mac 9.2.2

Post by 909 » Tue May 21, 2002 11:35 am

I\'m doing everything like said, but right at 98% finished rendering, system has a fatal crash. NO VST plugins, I thrashed them all, so emply vst folder and empied garbage.
I have TC powercore 1.6, but the VST\'s for that are NOT in the LIVE vst folder. I\'m also running motu 828 with newest drivers.

WHY DOES THIS PROGRAM RUN LIKE SHIT ON THE MAC? :x
it\'s so much smoother on the PC, does not crash at all and the screen redraws are smoother... Thank god I have a pc at work.

Great program though. Thank you! Very inspirational... : :D

Hi 909,

concerning the render to disk crash you had... Was it happend just once or can you reproduce it with a special song?

Would be nice if you can email me directly because it's a faster communication way.

regards,
Alex

LIVE RENDERING PROBLEM ON MAC

Post by Archetrope » Wed Oct 16, 2002 4:28 am

Q?: I cannot successfully render an arrangement to an audio file from live. When I “Render to disk” from Live the .aiff file that it renders will not open in any other applications or wav editors. I receive the error message: “Cannot read file: Disk error occurred” when attempting to open it with other applications.

When I try to import the rendered .aiff file into Live it returns the error message: “Disk error reading file. Apparently this file was created by a newer and incompatible version of Live”

I am unable to use Live as a result of this problem.
I would greatly appreciate your time in helping me resolve this issue.

I am using the latest version of Live 1.5 on Mac OS 9.2

It also happened to me on a Mac G4 800, os 9.2.2 with 512 mo of ram, Live 1.5 : I got the 'file created with a more recent version' type of message. Since then, I've upgraded to 1.52. I have to make more tests with this new version. Live runs OK on my mac but I have to say there are short sound stops when I add an FX very quickly !! To me, that means not bieng able to use live in a true improvisation situation on stage (precisely what the software seems to be designed to do !!)

Render "Error"issues I see I am not alone!!!

I WOULD LIKE A SIMPLE STEP BY STEP OF ANYONE WHO HAS SAVED THERE FILES WITHOUT AN ERROR, PLEASE!!!

All these people have been having this exact same problem!!!
What gives???
Oddly enough, I have tried Muzys out of frustration today and I can save files without a hitch, aiff or wav or midi!!!
But I have spent my hard earned dollars for a software (that I will upgrade, Gee you have me thinking now!!) I really enjoy and I can't believe there is no answer(other than using "another" software/I DON"T THINK SO!!) to do the job. I am using Live exclusively for all recording features because I feel it has all that I am looking for....and it works beautifully
This mere inconvenience has to have a solution and I simply want the proper steps to save a bloody aiff or wav or midi file, does any body know how???

These are previous posts from other chaps as well....
