I made a big mistake, when trying to figure out where to set my VST folder,
I set it by mistake to library, and then Live crashed, and now I can't reopen it, to change the folder location.
I realize it is scanning my entire library, and that is why live is crashing when opening, but what can I do to fix it? I can't relocate my whole library to an external hard drive, I copied it, but my Mac doesn't let me modify the library folder...
What do I do? Help!!!
Help! Live not opening due to VST search
Hello,
You must delete your Preferences.cfg file in this case.
You´ll find it here:
•Windows (Live 4 and later versions): C:/Documents and Settings/yourusername/Application Data/Ableton/Live/Preferences
•Windows Vista: c:/users/username/appdata/roaming/ableton/live/ preferences/
•Mac OS X: /User/Library/Preferences/Ableton
Note that on some Windows systems the application data folder is hidden by default. Here is what you have to do to make it visible:
Windows XP/2000
1.Launch Explorer.
2.Select Tools/Folder Options/View.
3.Check "Show hidden files and folders."
Best,
Christian
