garbled sound/bpm first time I load after boot-up

Hi,
I'm new to Live, and I have this very consistent problem with both 4.0 and 4.04: Every time after I boot up my laptop, the first time I load Live the sound is completely distorted, and the bpm sounds faster than it should be. I close the program and then reload it, and everything is fine. So it has an easy workaround, but this is just such a consistent problem, I really can't believe it.

My equipment: 1.6 Ghz Centrino, 512 RAM, 40 gig HD, M-audio mobile-pre interface.

Hello,

This sounds like a samplerate mismatch. Did you try to reinstall the audiodriver? Do you use 44,1kHz?

Yes, I just now reinstalled the audio driver, and when I checked my audio settings under preferences, I was using 44,1 kHz. I still have the same problem, though.
