YES this would be awesome!!Korhan wrote:Live is too BPM dependent, which is most apparent in its follow functions. Just adding this simple feature would make the follow actions such an experimental feature. Launch the next clip when the current clip ends. Simple!
+25 I really could have done with this in a recent sound installation.

Don't forget this - here's where the real fun begins:
I would also like to see a time variant added. Then there could be some time before the follow action is executed.
For example:
End + an empty field where a time can be entered:
End + 1 minute
End + 30 seconds
etc.
This time field could be represented as 00:00:00 for hours, minutes, seconds.
While there may be a work around, this would be so immediate & helpful. With this, & surround support, I wouldn't even have to look at my screen to do my work.

Makes a good random sound generator! That's another way I want to use Live. Pre-load it with a variety of sounds & let them self-trigger & interact in both controlled & uncontrolled ways.akm wrote:+1
It'll be cool to use Live just as a player, drop some files to the track, an album, and forget, it plays by itself, one after another.

What he said!Machinesworking wrote:I'd like to see this, and to be able to turn off or on a Follow Action from a keyboard shortcut or MIDI command. Those two together and I would definitely never leave Session View.
Of course it would be really cool if you could do clip based looping without having to turn warping on.
Furthermore, I think the easiest way for the Abes to integrate this would be to allow the duration to be set to 0 (and maybe to allow the default follow duration to be set in preferences). That way, it would not interfere with any existing functionality or require any extra UI elements.
Sorted!

Follow action has so much potential. I completely agree with feature request.

since a few months i'm using live also for djing. then i could split the tracks into several parts.
it's senseless for me to measure the time from start to stop, because this time is variable, when i'm working whit loops inside the track.
There is just no sensible way to divide a track into sections and still be able to do looping, so for me this is easily the most needed feature in Live.
