Auto-Pan Specific Frequencies?

Is there a trick or plug-in with which to isolate specific frequencies for auto-panning? In live or elsewhere? If not, someone should write one. Not me, because I'm a caveman.

sure you can do it with 2 chains in a rack & one with the eq & pan on....or something like that

Yes, make two chains, one dry, and the other with an eq 8 and an auto pan, isolate the frequencies you want in the eq 8, and you're set.
