but can we add original parts on the remix, or is it restricted to the samples in the pack?

Of course you can use "other" sounds. In fact, you bloody better!

We are after "real" remixes that can go on an album and stand the test of time.

The Results Are In!

Firstly, THANK YOU!!! to everyone who entered for your creativity, time and effort - it was wicked to hear so many different takes on our stuff.
We received a total of 35 finished mixes from all over the world, so without further ado...

The Winner(s):

Neon Stereo (a.k.a. sweetjesus)'s "Lost In A Cave Mix"

and

Rob Crowdy's "Rob's Light Mix"

Congratulations Guys!!

These two tracks will go on the CD release: Rhythm, Sound and Movement (Rude Mechanicals Remixes) due out in May.
A number of other tracks are going to be included as bonus tracks for people who buy online, These are: Krusseldorf, Chromidome, Deep Seed, Plasma Corp, and Subset.

In July we are planning to release a digital EP of about 10 of the competition mixes. We will be getting in touch with everyone individually to work out releasing the ones we would like.

We have a few virtual awards to give out. . .

We received this remix within 24 hrs of the download being available. Wow! Wish we were as prolific!

2. The Best First Ever Use Of Ableton Live Award goes to: Insect from Australia

3. The Most Likely To Get Us Sued Award goes to: Sharkweek
For his use of an Elvis sample.

4. The Beyond The Call Of Duty Award goes to: Rob Crowdy
For three remixes, just pipping Subset and Shiner Clay on two each.

If you submitted a mix but it wasn't one of the ones chosen, and you would like to release it through some other means, please get in touch with us - we are open to anything!

So once again, many thanks to everyone who took the time to remix this track, we were overwhelmed by the response and the overall quality of the productions.

Anyway it is a great CD (apart perhaps from tr12, but I have to say that?) and an excellent advertisement for ALive
