What the heck does it do?
Computer games don't effect kids... If Pacman affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music

Stick a hamster in it ftw!

What a statement that would make.

I still wish I had one of the first run, I like the slightly bigger buttons and I like the apple look (lame I know) but they are wayyyy too expensive second hand.

I guess my 128 will have to be enough... :(

hehe
It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.

How many buttons do you need?
Would the Faderfox LX2 be a solution?

or the old one, different layout but no leds, the LX1?:

Still around 200€ - but a lot cheaper compared to the monome.

do your buttons need to light up? if not, i'm loving the korg nano pad...$60USD, 12 velocity pads that are assignable to note or cc. i'm reasonably sure you can hook up more than one at once. get clever with a usb hub and superglue and you could make yourself el monome mas gigante.

very nice, although.... why is it so deep? Seems like it's built to fit the monome and a bunch of other stuff.

I still don't udnerstand why the hell these are SO expensive and why there isn't a competition for them. A cheap one.
