Problems registering Live 7 Suite (crosspost from Bugs)

Post by leninboarrir » Tue Dec 09, 2008 4:16 am

Hi there. I just got my copy of Live 7 Suite in the mail today, so I threw the DVD in my computer and tried to install and unlock it. There's a problem: the serial number I've been given on the inside of the DVD case is used to unlock Analog, not Live itself. When I put that serial number into the product registration field on this website, it goes through-and confirms that the number that I received is identical to the one used for Analog. Nowhere within the program itself or on Ableton.com am I given a serial number that specifically unlocks the application itself.

What am I supposed to do?

Hi,

Did you buy this directly from Ableton? A music store? Did you purchase the program second hand? If you bought it from Ableton, or a Music store, this is probably as simple as Emailing support.

A serial number for the suite, should unlock everything....

I bought it from a 100% feedback store on ebay. I have e-mailed support, but since I'm pretty far from German time, they're not going to be open for a while. I was wondering if I could get some sort of answer beforehand.

Did it come to you in a sealed box or was it opened?

I don't know man. My serial came in an email. I think you're just going to have to wait until you hear back from Ableton. I recently bought software from someone on Ebay though, only to find that the box had been opened and the software registered prior to shipping it to me. I'm sure you've already contacted the seller, but if they are legit, they should offer to help/make good on it.

Well, they were legit enough to not ship my software until I sent them information that confirmed I was a student (I purchased the EDU version), which is something they didn't reallyhave to do. Since the box was sealed, I don't feel like there was any tampering going on.

we bought 3 ableton suite packs for the studio's at our college and they only got sent with a code to open sampler (all were sealed like yours), focusrite just replaced them for us

I can only assume a bad batch has slipped through the net somewhere

A hardware/software music company.

http://www.focusrite.com/

It has nothing to do with helping you unlock your Live. Email support.

Cheers Mate...
