Disagree on this one, i guess it will never be understood as a milestone or anything. Would have agreed if you took the PMC-05 as it first introduced those faders and became somewhat like a standard mixer for quite some years in its Mk2 and 3 versions. Already regret i sold my mk1 05 to a friend, but it still works perfect. After all the 06 is just the small 05 and if i remember right ecler came with first with a small version mixer.
i second the the microkorg, it already is, but the lemur (?) and the Yamaha A5000 (?), the yamaha came out by the end of the hardware sampler era and will never be able to compete against those classic akai S950 - 2000 in terms of a classic piece of hardware. This stuff shaped the music of the time.
