mapping to novation remote sl touchpad locks live up

hi guys.

had anyone faced this strange problem with novation remote sl x-y touchpad?

when in template 40, the left-hand lower row of buttons, 8 pots, drumpads AND xy touchpad are still free for mapping using live's midi map function. everything works like a charm, excepting the xy pad.

when you assign anything to it, it seems to be working but just not for long. after a time, Live 7.0.3 becomes irresponsive, as well as novation itself. the screens on it won't update, and the Live goes back to life every 10-20 seconds for a few seconds and then back and forth..

under no other circumstances it behaves this way..
the sl's os is the most recent, 4.1.09, and so is the automap software.. what's wrong with it?

here is the reply from novation support [which is really fast! it came in less than an hour! great support, Novation!]

Hi!,

This is a bug we are aware of and has been fixed in a new OS update. This is currently ready for release, however there are other bug fix and feature to be add in the next updates. Therefore I've attached the .syx file so you can upload it manually.

To upload the OS to the Remote SL, you will need the following software:

If you are on a PC, you will need MIDI OX (http://www.midiox.com/)
If you are on a Mac, you will need SysEx Libraian (http://www.snoize.com/SysExLibrarian/)

Set the SL to receive OS update:

Press global once, press page up 3 times, then press the button below 'USB1 OS Receive', press page up button once again, then the screen should say 'WAITING FOR OPERATING SYSTEM UPDATE via USB 1'. Your SL is now ready to receive the SL update.

For a Mac:

Connect your SL via USB, open up Sysex Librarian, make sure the Remote SL port 1 is selected at the top, then drag the attached .syx file into Sysex Librarian. Select that file and then hit 'Play' at the top. You should see it uploading onto the SL.

For a PC

Connect your SL, open up MIDI-OX and make sure that the SL is selected in Option > MIDI Devices. Click Ok.

Now go to View > Sysex... Then click File > Send Sysex File. Choose the attached .syx file.

You should see the percentage value increase on the SL's LCD whilst it uploads.

Afterwards, it will ask you to switch it on and off.

Sorry, but not resolved completely ...

Response between novations SL device and Live is not freezing anymore, that's right and seems to be fixed ...

but, there is a strong latency on reaction of lives x/y options within the few plugins on the touchpad (the signal seems to come without latency as we can see on the MIDI led on the right top of screen but Ableton puts a strong latency)

here, I think, it is up to both companies to fix something - so novation seems to have done it's part, but it's Abletons turn right now ...

by the way: this issue of comunication freeze seems to occure on the remote sl25 only ...
