on/off toggling on keys
when i first found out that you could assign the keys on your computer to activate the individual tracks, i thought it was brilliant and it gave the software the sort of interactivity I love on the MPC.
then it turns out the key only turns on the track, but doesn't turn it off if you hit the same key again. this simple function would be a HUGE improvement on an already cool piece of gear.
thanks

Yes, this would be a BIG improvement. I was initially surprised that you couldn't do this.

i know of at least 2 more people who switched over from using the MPC in performance to Live who also would REALLY like that feature implemented as much as i do.
there is so much amazing programming going on in the software, i was also really surprised something that simple got overlooked.
how about an upgrade with this, please ?
bitte schön ?
thanks

To stop a clip, just press the track's stop clip button, or press an "empty" clip on the same track. Both of these actions can be assigned to Key or Midi triggers.
The way it is now is actually really cool. If you "activate" a clip that is already playing, the clip gets re-triggered -- it starts over at the next opportunity (as per the current clip quantization). So, you can achieve a quantized stuttering effect by repeatedly triggering a clip -- provided you have a sufficiently small clip quantization like 1/8 or 1/16. It's great for doing little "fills" to break up a monotonous loop.
PLEASE LEAVE IT THE WAY IT IS ABLETON!!!

hmmmmm...
you DO have a point there...
i haven't used that "stutter" thing that much, so I'm not sure which i'd find more useful, but it does sound like a cool option.
how about if you had the choice of on/off toggle or using it the way it is?

Don't leave it the way it is....make it selectable for each track/sample, etc. That way, you can have the best of both worlds... But, that stutter re-triggering thing is a great idea...I'm gonna try it out right now.

But that only works for midi triggering, as far as i can see. if it could be extended to include the computer keyboard, then you'd have the perfect solution - toggling if you want it, stuttering if you don't.Anonymous wrote: Uh, its allready there. . . .
just change the clips launch mode from "trigger" to "toggle"
