Can you delete Live packs and olderversions of Live after...

.....you install the newer versions and the live packs? Or do I have to keep the .alp files around and my original version of live on my harddrive?

you can uninstall the old versions, and you can uninstall the packs from the preference window.

I think you might have misunderstood me or maybe me you. But what I meant was after I install solid sounds for instance and I want to use that live pack. Do i have to keep .alp files on my computer in order for the solid sounds live pack to still work? And if i want my 7.012 upgrade to continue working do I need to keep my original version of Live on the comp?

No, once it's installed you can delete the original .alp file (think of it like a zip file).

As Roby said, you can delete earlier versions if you wish, no problem. Each Live installation is self-contained. Some people recommend you keep at least one previous version in case there are new problems with the latest version.

I always keep a copy of the original ALP files, just in case I need it - especially useful if you want to do a clean install.

Oh I see. If you install the pack, you can delete or archive the .alp file somewhere else. the .alp file is like a .zip or .rar file, which decompresses it's content during install.
