what are you on about? Anyone who has the brains to do a backup has the brains to not use IE, haha.Moody wrote:Anybody using Windows; with the current state of IE better have a backup, unless you like starting over.
Reminder: BACK UP YOUR DATA!
Ouch, I like IE, it is native and simple to use. Unfortunately it has had a huge hole in it for the last week that has been heavily exploited but, this is why I make images of my system and backup the other important parts.Machinate wrote:what are you on about? Ableton’s engineers are hard
at work developing code that will allow our software to predict the future, but we don’t
anticipate having this available until at least the next major release.

so how is a security vunerability and a reminder to backup related? and I love the rich creamy irony of Norton putting out notes on security vunerability when they are the biggest makers of bloatware and invasiveware on the planet!Moody wrote:http://www.symantec.com/norton/security ... ?bid=32721adventurepants_ wrote:what are you talking about?Moody wrote:Anybody using Windows; with the current state of IE better have a backup, unless you like starting over.

Because one is only as good as their last (non-compromised) backup, regardless of what caused the data loss; a huge hole in a commonly used web browser is potential for data loss, as it was for me and Symantec just happens to have the largest free virus/vulnerability listing available. Use it, it is a nice free resource.adventurepants_ wrote:so how is a security vunerability and a reminder to backup related? and I love the rich creamy irony of Norton putting out notes on security vunerability when they are the biggest makers of bloatware and invasiveware on the planet!Moody wrote:http://www.symantec.com/norton/security ... ?bid=32721adventurepants_ wrote: what are you talking about?

yes, definitely backup regularly. 2 summers ago i lost an ENTIRE summers worth of vinyl - to - mp3 rips. i spent close to $800 to get the data recovered from a HD data recovery center. costly friggn mistake.
i agree, avoid Norton like the black plague.
i've been using migo pc backup since version 8 and i can't recommend it enough. the newest version is on sale right now for $39.99
