So I recent upgraded from 6 to 7 and I noticed after I drop a warped file from the arrangement back to the file browser it now creates an audio sample file for it.
Does this mean that it is going to take up extra space on my computer?
Is there a solution to this? perhaps just deleting the OG track? Or can I deleted the sample file?
In ableton 6 it would just create a warped file that would use the original file as it's source is there any way to use this method again in 7?
I have one of the first macbook pro's and the 100gb drive is nearly full and I dont really trust my external!
Help and thanks!

That there is a Live Clip (.alc)- just a reference to the sample file, also stores warp settings, envelope info, track effects and settings...since it only references the file it shouldnt be too big, but the more you have attached to it, the bigger it will be. works with MIDI clips as well but a bit differently. id recommend checking out the manual about the Live Clip format, unfolding Live sets in the browser...pretty powerful features...
