I don't see why it would/could. It's a HID device. But with some trickery and a layer (Max, PD...) between it and Live - it could be done.
Reminds me of the Nostromo that was popular around here a few years back. It does the same thing. Allows you to assign macros/sequences of keys... This looks a bit more futuristic, though.

why bother, though? It's a computer keyboard, they'll work just fine with Ableton Live, out of the box

mbp 2.66, osx 10.6.8, 8GB ram.

Well, the trick would be getting data onto the LCD display . . .

I know EVERYTHING
that I know and you don't know, and don't know what I don't know that you know, so I'll ignore that stuff. Wassup now?

That was my first thought!
It would be nice to really put all of Ableton Lives(s)hot keys on one device smaller then a keyboard! As I've ran out of room on my desk! Too much crap.
Another idea is if someone created a piano keyboard that had a slide out PC keyboard, push button and keyboard slides back in!!!

As a gamer I find all these custom tailored game keypads quite silly.
IBM Model M layout all the way.
