FIREBOX TRAUMA. Please help me out!
FIREBOX TRAUMA. Please help me out!
I just cant get my firebox to work properly since I have upgraded my computer. The windows sounds work fine but when I come to load live up it takes forever and it will not do anything once loaded up! The bar which tells you the CPU load is also blank once. Im using it with the firebox asio driver which I have never had problems with before. If I change it to mme/dx it plays then bit there is no sound coming out. It just a nightmare, im thinking of getting rid of the shitty firebox for something better any suggestions!!

Hi,
which version exactly are you using? Is it the latest one?
How does other ASIO software behave when trying to use the firebox?
Best,
Dom

i guess you have a buspower issue. unfortunately reformatting will have no effect imho. could you please be more descriptive? your first post states that you had upgraded your computer. post your config details please:
How is your audio interface connected to the pc?
Firewire Card (model)?
Did you changed the FW card?
Are you using a wall wart for your interface?
What was the computer you had used before?

Iv reformatted and it has loaded on and is running correctly at this time.

first of all: merry xmas!
i meant if it´s connected via
1.) FW400 or FW800
2.) which cables? 4pin , 6 pin, 9pin???
read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AC_adapter
cheers
that´s not exactly what i meant. for sure it´s connected via firewire.AFTR-FADR wrote:

there is a lot of information missing. does this mainboard have fw onboard? what is the firewire chipset? if you don´t understand what i am asking here: you should read and learn more about technologies. the web is your friend! if you´re a lazy guy, ask a friend who has more knowledge than you.AFTR-FADR wrote: Yes i Upgraded my PC Spec as Follows:

firewire bus power: many fw audio interfaces are powered by the firewire bus. if you have your presonus card connected via an e.g. 6pin cable, 2 pins of the 6pin connector provide power for your interface. sometimes there is not enough power supplied by the bus. casually there´s is no indication that the audio interface is off, because it could take only milliseconds without power or there is not enough amperage coming from the fw bus. LEDs light up very quickly, so you can´t see that.AFTR-FADR wrote: What is this about buspower issue?
wait and see if the symptoms occur again.AFTR-FADR wrote:Iv reformatted and it has loaded on and is running correctly at this time.
