AUDIO QUESTION!!!

Post by mpc2323 » Mon Nov 29, 2004 2:08 pm

how do you access the envelope option without clicking warp? I use another wave editor to do my time stretching because the warp option in ableton has too much alising if you do a mild timestretching(warp option on). Anyways, I want to find a way to access the envelope without click the warp option on. Oh and the loop option, how do you turn em on without turning on warp/???????????????????????/

You can't access the envelope functions without warp being switched on.....same goes for loop. But if you're doing your timestretching externally to match a given tempo in Live it won't make any difference to have the warp engine switched on. Warping only starts to have an audible effect when you move the yellow warp markers around. If your project tempo is the same as the tempo of the file you have stretched in an external editor you shouldn't have any aliasing probs....i.e the warp markers should all line up on the beats anyway. Hope this helps.

Even if warp is on, as long as none of the warpmarkers are fixed in place, and the clip tempo matches the songs master tempo, NO CHANGE will be made to the clips audio content. A clip in this condition will be played back identically to the same clip with warp off.
I cant think of a sig
