A tv ad scored only with Live!!!!

Post by Benshik » Fri Nov 26, 2004 12:44 pm

Hello guys,
I would be greatly honored to get a feedback from the Live community on my new ad… scored ONLY with Live!
when I started this project, everyone was so busy on other stuff that instead of having half-motivated partners, I've decided to take everything on my back and jump 100% into it. As a result, I made almost everything on my own : the directing, the music, the art direction, the copywriting, the design, the editing… fkn lots of work...

The music has been made on my mac, using Ableton Live 4. I remember when I brought the unmixed tracks to the studio for final mastering and mixing, the sound engineer was quite happy with the sound quality. Besides some slight compression/reverb he left the mix practically untouched. So big thanx to Ableton!!!!!! I think it proves Live isn't only a jamming or dj tool! :-)

And finally, I think it is worth mentionning that this film won the Grand Prix of the Moscow International Advertising Festival last Saturday! Sure, Moscow isn't Cannes, but still, getting the top award out of hundreds and hundreds of international entries is always something nice… ;)

So here's the link:

http://www.advertology.ru/article8363.html

it's the first one from top (just under the words "Grand" and "Prix" ;)). Watching it on the internet in such a small window and in such a crappy resolution is definitely not an advantage... but you know...

For those unable to read Russian, here is the translation :
After seeing various Moscow cityscapes in which all outdoor ads have been drawn by children, the following titles appear: «Russian advertising is young, we help it grow… The Ad Industry Magazine»

Cheers

Ben

I spent some time in Moscow and I can tell you that the advertising there is on a par with any other big city in the world.

so big up yerself.

Nice dude! That idea is really creative, and the music fits well with what the video is doing.

Congrats!
peace,

Rats -- this board won't accept Russian characters. (Or I can't figure out how to enter them so they display correctly.) :-( Oh well, I'll say it in English: Good work! The music fits the video just right.

scoring with Live

Post by threshold » Tue Nov 30, 2004 9:49 pm

Hi to all,

I'm just unwrapping Live at this point but will be around to check more work from people and hopefully I'll be able to figure out how to use it enough to create my own stuff.

hey Dave,

I'm just new here, but wanted to say I dig your work with Live. Well done. Particularily liked Happy Choosing for the sync with the spoken words...

Hi & nice work!

How are you all handling video? Live rewired to Pro Tools? Nuendo?

I'm especially interested in how you are doing it on a PC.

Thanks

hey,
thanx.

i have an older g4 with Protools that plays back my video and sends MTC
to my PC where Live is.
i then print the final back to the g4.
