The joy of finding old recordings...

Don't you just love going through old recordings and stumbling across an unfinished gem.

I am sorting through my laptop and in my band we try to record everything we do and sometimes like today I have found some recordings from over 3 years ago that excite me, now i have to work them out by ear and break them down and try and do something with them.

I think its great fun to do when you are feeling you have writers block... But then sometimes its depressing to see what you were creating 3 years ago.. haha.

my band mates don't want to work on any of the stuff they discarded before i joined - there's some great stuff in there especially the first thing they ever recorded in garageband called mr funny which is about eric morecambe's funeral...recycling old ideas is great though - just like a compost heap... chuck 'em on to rot down for a bit and then use them to grow something new....
