you bet! using the finest cloth available.

"Linseed oil gives a fantastic finish, but you need a year to apply it. The general rule of thumb for a linseed oil finish is once an hour for a day, once a day for a week, once a week for a month and once a month for a year. The finish was usually french polished once a year after that. That's a lot of work."

so please behave, it has to dry.

Funny abort, but I remember being 'Alpha maled' by yourself once.

This forum can be broad-minded, but asking about accordions is beyond the pale...
You'd be surprised what David Torn can do with an accordion! But i concur that he's probably one of very few exceptions to the "no accordions ever" rule.

I don't come on here often, but I do lurk a little and I really couldn't be arsed with going through this whole thread (or searching for it!) but this is my take on this forum. I really enjoy the randomness of it. It geeks, it rocks, it occasionally gels into a nice warm glow, it nerds out, a lot of the time but a lot of people don't takes themselves to seriously. I've found out stacks of stuff and I haven't found a forum since that I've wanted to watch and 'listen' to as much .

You can tell I've just been to the pub! but this is my stance and while I can hold it, I'm sticking to it!

I've spent so much time in the past doing training courses in programming languages, but they're exceptionally dry and boring, and I find that I rarely learn anything. If this forum stayed on topic all the time it'd be just like that.

Instead we sit around, talk shit, and in the midst of it all there's some genuinely useful information flying around. It's like coming along to a user group meetup, and learning stuff while having a bit of a social event.

Works for me.

+1 Me too. I love it here.

Edit: Oooh, ooh, I'm seriously close to post # 1000 (in just over 6 months - that's how much I love it!) - Am I supposed to do anything special with my 1000th post?
