I can't get the "Value Scaling" or "Pickup" Takeover mode to work with my Korg NanoKontrol (KNK). OK, here's the setup:
KNK takeover mode set to "Pickup"
KNK Scene 1 knobs mapped to Instrument Rack no.1 macro knobs
KNK Scene 2 knobs mapped to Instrument Rack no.2 macro knobs
1) Let's say I turn all the Scene 1 knobs to 64 (i.e. midrange)
2) Flip to KNK Scene 2, and turn all the knobs up to 127
3) Return to Scene 1 - now all the knobs are physically at the value = 127 position, though the macro knobs they're mapped to are at value 64 (from step 1).
4) When I turn the KNK knob now, the Instrument Rack macro knobs immediately jump up to around 127, instead of waiting for the CC value to pass 64, which is how I thought Pickup takeover mode worked.
However, if I move the macro knob manually, Pickup mode seems to work.
All mappings are in Absolute mode.
The multiple scenes on the KNK is a great bonus but it does mean lots of jerky parameter jumps, which isn't great in a live situation.
Any help appreciated!
Cheers
Richard

Thanks ... yes the problem occurs when switching controller presets via the "Scene" button, which loads up a different set of MIDI channel\CC number assignments for each control.8O wrote:Sounds like a similar problem to what we've seen on the UC-33e + Live for years now... Happens when changing presets on the controller. Lemme see if I can dig out the old thread...

This is odd. I've just loaded up the set I was using to test all this.
Value Scaling seems to work initially, but then the functionality is lost after switching presets a couple of times.
Is this a similar issue to the one with the UC33e?
Cheers

Just saw this thread. I'm having similar problems:
