Live 4 midi madness

Post by novation1 » Sat Dec 04, 2004 5:24 pm

8O i am a new user to live 4 and have switched to this quite amazing software because of its full midi implementation.
the problem i have is i can get midi from my midi synth into live and it play's on the track but at the same time my keyboard/synth's preset's keep changing on their own as i am playing the track.
i think the problem is my soundcard settings in live 4.
which driver should i use in the preferences box,-ASIO OR MME DIRECT X,and in the midi in/out box should i select Delta 1010lt multichannel dx or delta 1010lt multichannel wave.
My sound card is a recently bought M Audio Delta 1010lt and my midi synth is a Novation K Station which work's perfectly with other sequencer's so i am confused.

i would be gratefull for any help

it sound like Live is sending program change messages to your synth. in the clip view, are program, bank and sub-bank all set to none?

in preferences select ASIO, as that has the lowest latency.

in midi from select the midi input of your soundcard (you have one of those delta's with integrated midi i/o right?) and in midi too select the midi output. what they're called should be in your manual.

btw i'm suprised 'delta 1010lt multichannel wave' even shows up in your midi from/too boxes! are you sure you are talking about midi channels?

:D thanks for reply

delta multi channel wave does show up in the midi in/out boxe's.

i have local control turned off on my synth but that does not seem to make much difference either.

i will try out your suggestions and let you know.
