Hello,
I've heard from a bunch of frends that Live is great. So far, I only use Reason, Recycle, Rebirth and Cakewalk's Sonar 4 PE. I'm wondering what Live has have to offer over propellerheads software pack? I know it it handles vsts, where reason does not but other then that, I dont' know the differences. If the differences interest me I may buy the software maybe sometime tomorrow or today.....
Thank you!

Live vs Reason+Sonar?
Live's got a completely different spin than the Props' offerings.Live's strength is the realtime manipulation of audio clips-the VSTi support is just icing on the cake for now.To come close with Reason, you'd essentially need to have ReCycle available as a plugin for Reason so you could use ReCycle inside Reason instead of just the rx2 files it generates(that's something that would rock
).You'd need audio ins,and...
I use both Reason and Live as ReWire slaves in Sonar(and occasionally Reason as a ReWire slave in Live)-they're all complimentary to each other
Try the demo-I think you'll like it.

Reason and Live are 2 completely different animals. Reason does not record audio or support audio tracks or 3rd party plugins.
As far as Sonar vs. Live, Sonar has more features, especially midi features, but Live has a much more streamlined interface. Sonar is more of a conventional sequencer/multitrack like Cubase, Live is more of a loop remix sequencer, but it's also a very good multitrack recorder, plus it has the "live" performance session view you won't find anywhere else. One thing I hate about Sonar is lack of native VST support. You can use the wrapper, but it's inconvienient. I like dropping .dlls in my vst folder and playing, not running a wrapper everytime I install a plugin. Also DX plugins use more CPU than vst. I recorded alot of songs in Sonar, and it was rock solid, but the interface is just not as efficient as Live.
I think of Live as a musician's sequencer and Cubase/Sonar as an engineer's sequencer.
