live/notebook - how to arrange setup?

hey guys, as a newbee to live I have a few questions and need your expertise.

The background

I´m keyboard-player in a gothic-metal band (ok, my fault *gg*) and have to configure my setup for the coming gigs. Usually I had a hardwaresampler (Kurzweil K2500X) with all the loops in sample-ram, drummer played with metronome and I started the loops "by hand".
That worked quite well for 3 years now.
In the meantime our music has grown in a more and more arpeggiator-stuff and loop-style-element way, so I went for ableton live.

My idea was to generate the click and send the click to the drummer on a specific output of my MOTU828MKII, and then trigger the samples live (quantized). So far so good.
I also want to play AU/VST instruments live (NI Kontakt, Absynth, Albino, Virsyn Tera) which seems to work also.

Where´s the problem?

I have to change for each song the combination of virtual instruments including multisample-loading and the tempo/samples/tracks in live.
Do I have to use 1 Live Set per Song (seems to me)?
How can I quickly switch between Live Sets(maybe with midi prg change)? Is it planned to have more than one live set open at the same time?
Is there another possibility how to setup live to fulfill my needs?

Hmmm, not possible i think, lets hope they change that in future updates.

Hi,

Here's a possible workaround for the VSTi's:

Have an instance of each VSTi loaded with the correct preset for every VSTi in every song you use. Switch between them by assigning each a unique MIDI channel number. If that's too much for the CPU, then simply turn the ones for the non-current song off. You could assign an unused MIDI note to toggle the instrument on/off, say, top C.

ok, that would work with the VSTi´s.

my problem is that the different songs have different tempi, i will have to adjust the global tempo after each song to have the metronome for my drummer and my warped loops correct
