Twice now, I've emailed support with no response (other than automated), both midiman and the ableton address. Real quality customer support. It's been well over a week since the second email to midiman, and well over a month from the first one to ableton.

[end flame]

Maybe someone else can help me, my main audio rig passed on, and I had to move audio production to another rig.

Specs:

850Mhz AMD Duron Processor
ASUS Mainboard
256MB of SDRAM
nvidia geforce2 mx AGP card
nvidia geforce4 mx PCI card
Creative Labs Audigy Platnum ex
All software up to date

I'm aware that there have been problems with using Live on a dual monitor setup on a second monitor, but this was a problem when I had one monitor.

I have this very odd problem with screen refreshes. http://www.geargasm.com/livescreenshot2.PNG and http://www.geargasm.com/livescreenshot3.PNG should show a small example. For no reason what so ever, the screen seems to jump around, making it entirely impossible for me to use Live. I wish I could animate what it does, because the screen is not static, it jumps all over the place. Usually, the only way I can temporarily fix it is to resize the window, but in a moment or two, I can usually expect this to happen again. I've tried reinstalling my video driver and turning off XP's special effects, but I still can't make this problem go away. Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks,

Mike a.k.a. Geargasm

Hi geargasm,

unfortunately Live doesn't yet support dual monitor on the Pc.
We know that there are sometimes strange problems with dual monitor graphic card or 2 graphic cards like in your case but like a lot of other things we have to set priorities what to do first and what to do later. If we would know an easy or simple solution for this problem we would do or would tell but the truth is we still have no one.

For myself, I wait for the day when I can use Live on the second monitor with my (old) Matrox G400 Dual Head card at home.

Concerning the problem you have, we know about problems with dual monitor cards but have no own test experience with two graphic cards in a PC. I could say something like just use one by removing the other but that's not really a solution.

So hopefully one of the Forum readers have a solution ofr this problem.

regards,
Alex

This is REALLY weird, but after a month of having the problem, it's gone now. The only change I made was a reboot, which I've done a million times before. Weirdness.

I spoke too soon. I switched primary video cards from the pci to the AGP (it's a better card in the PCI slot) and the problems are really gone this time after a few hours of twiddling. Hope it helps someone else.
