Post by 8O » Thu Jan 15, 2009 1:30 pm

Let's say it's around $400 - $500.

So, what's it going to be then eh?

Edit: so... for $399?

Guaranteed.
Hopefully they wont have any hardware/firmware issues like they had with the mpd24s first batch.

Maybe. But i have a feeling there'll be a few cheap secondhand controllers for sale around these parts in a month or so. Maybe I'll just pick up a couple of padkontrols instead.

a live 7 suite upgrade to Live 8 suite + max + controller bundle could be very tempting!
Nothing to see here - move along!

Any live bundle with hardware is probably going to be Live Lite or LE or whatever - I don't think I've ever seen a full version of Live bundled with anything when it wasn't the online shops doing the bundling, although, what else could this be used with?

APC probably requires some extra features not yet available in L7. Maybe?

a lot of the price estimates I have seen from Live users seem to be way too low.
Look at all those buttons and LEDs, all those dials, the metal case, etc etc.

I think this is going to be an expensive controller.

lets face it - what is the alternative to this?
you gonna build yourself a Monodeck instead of this?

Nah

I'm thinking big numbers like €699 / $699
lower would be wonderful, but I doubt they price things based on my wishes

Yes, but it's "just" a controller. So no need for DSP and associated development. I guess the electronics inside are relatively simple. But you're right, nice hardware costs $$$.

$700 will price a lot of people out I think.

I guess we'll find out soon...
