Anyone?

Post by infiniteB » Thu Jan 15, 2009 1:40 pm

I take it there are more than 1 banks of 8 tracks for faders? And are they motorized? And that the grid has both "temporary" and "toggle" with LED showing you status for anything you assign one of those buttons to (specifically on/offs, mutes, etc.), not just "3 colors for clip status"? Anyone?

This is the most exciting news for a long time. Not the news I've been anticipating, but possibly even better, and a lovely surprise.

Now, to save up some monies... I might be able to afford one this time next year!
Just get rid of those Faderfoxes and you'll be part of the way there :D
I know, I know, but I love them too much! Much more portable than the APC and I like being able to control 14 tracks simultaneiusly which I can with my foxes. I could adapt, I guess, but I'd rather have both!

This is the thing I’ve been waiting for years. Anybody want to buy two trigger fingers ;)

I just hope all these announcements lead to actual products we can buy soon and not just announcements for announcements sake like we’ve had before.

From the Akai website

“The APC40 comes with a special edition of Ableton Live Lite so you can use it out of the box even if you’re new to Live. There's also a free patch that upgrades full versions of Live so if you're already a Live user, you can take full advantage of the APC40.”

I would buy the APC40 in the morning if it was available, it perfectly fits my workflow but from that statement Akai aren’t expecting the Ableton/Cycling outcome to be ready for the launch of this controller ?

I have had the most stressful week. Thinking about this makes everything nicer. The max for live business is what really turns me on, but this clearly seems to be the perfect contoller for Live. Impressive.

Apparently if you use Max you will be able to do almost anything. Robert also indicated direct access to midi notes in clips via "Live for Max".

So I'd assume that with this controller and Live for Max, you'd be able to do that easy.

Just wanted to say thanks. It took awhile to get here, but you guys really came through in the end.

I'm guessing the price is $799, I can't see this being cheap, those encoders look quality.
