Q: is Max for Live an integrated part or an add-on? Seems like the former, but
it somehow strikes me as toogoodtobetrue. EDIT: never mind - toogoodtobetrue!
Q: can one upgrade from L7 suite to L8 "non-suite" and keep using the old
instruments? (When the time comes, I'm going to cave and get the suite, but
it's nice to know.)

I can see the new default answer on the forums will be "just build a max patch for it".

also the ability to 'jump' in pre-view is nice.

seriously. surely we'll need a sticky in the tips n tricks section for objects people have made. maybe the online collab feature would be a way to depot them online.

coming soon... Tarekith's guide to using Tarekith's MIL plug ins.

Question,

Do you need Live 8 in order to run the Akai APC-40 controller?
