Sell Reason 4 for Zebra?
I'm thinking of selling my reason 4.0 educational license in favor of picking up zebra. i already have the live 7 suite and plan on upgrading to 8 suite.
do you think that's worth it?

I would check with propellerheads to make sure you CAN sell an educational license.gurumonkey wrote:I'm thinking of selling my reason 4.0 educational license in favor of picking up zebra. i already have the live 7 suite and plan on upgrading to 8 suite.

It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.

So, you would trade in all the tools and applications that reason has to offer, for one soft-synth?
Have you messed around with Thor? It's one hell of a synthesizer. I wouldn't trade that for Zebra.
Why would you want to do that, anyway? Zebra's a pretty nice synth, but to get rid of Reason for it... I wouldn't do it, personally.

Hmm, could have sworn all my student copies had an "EDU" on the box. I know the EDU upgrade to 4 was cheap as shit.gurumonkey wrote:yea,
academic is for teachers, students, private teachers....and such.
educational is like if i'm berklee college of music and want 50 copies for a lab.

For sure. If you have the live suite, and especially if you're going to upgrade to the Live 8 suite, I'd much rather just use everything in Live if I were you. I don't think Zebra can replace Reason, but with the Live 8 suite and Zebra, I don't think you'd miss reason at all.Lazos wrote:My opinion is go with Zebra, particularly if you already have L7 suite and plan to get L8 suite. Depends on what you want to do, but with the above, Reason is just silly IMHO.
If you don't have the suite though, I would say a better trade off would be sell reason, get Reaktor 5 to use in Live.
