only requires 1 pedal well, hell what am i gonna do with the other 9 pedals on the FCB 1010

vaguely guessing from that lil picture...

half time
double time
overdub
control the speed of the loop...
-nudge the speed up
-nudge the speed down
reverse
overdub
stop
play
and delete?

thats 10 right? looks like someone was thinking loopers might be using the FCB or something similar

you could also switch between scenes in your session....
switch between loopers in your rack...
switch between different tracks with different loopers...

why need more than 1 looper?
1 to start the global tempo...
1 to record outputs of other loopers and make new loops out of loops?
the possibilities are awesome!

would be awesome to 1 button slice your loop across a midi keyboard BUT if you can just drag your loop to a track and right click it i'll take it! (for now!)

Would it be possible to write a MfL patch that acts as a button like "Record xxx bars and then" ---->make clip in track X?
It should not be hard, but then I'm not into Max at all.

not needed.
it's hard to explain, but the Looper has an 'insert point' where you can insert another track in the path. An audio track. You just arm that track and record the clips you want.

play em back as you feel the urge.

feel free to add more questions or comments.

my question is; does looper make clips in the track as it goes? (that is what i would like)

how can i access the different loops i have recorded?
thew big question for me is: since looper sets the first clip as tempo, can the looper also set the first clip as the global master tempo for the rest of your project, or is this confined to the tempo inside the looper only? because if it can be synched to outside its own device/to other loopers, and use the first clip as a global master tempo then i am a very very very happy man.

i hope they implement autolooping.. means it records all the time without being told so..as soon you press the loop button it replays the previous 2-8 bars...

allmost all loopers miss this essential feature...
But
when you get the idea thats time to loop... it just has happened...

i still wish that aswell for lives arrange record function.. only logic provides such a feature... but with the limited live recording functions of logic that only helps for playing keyboard..

why do developers never see that music production is about recording the special moments ...not about recording the repeatable moments..
maybe because they program.. and dont try to catch semi chaotic performances of wild beasts..

ok.. maybe it would be to easy than to be special :-/

it can set the global tempo.i believe that is what 'tempo control' is for

For lunch break compositions I think the Koassilator + Ableton Looper = pure gold.

Q. Is there any reason that I couldn't use my FCB1010 + Akai controller? I don't see why not. I have a Midisport 8x8 midi interface. Preferably, I want things as simple as possible and so it may be tempting to just go w/ a simple two pedal roland stomp box through the Akai, but I'll have to figure that out when it's in front of me I guess.

3phase- I posted a live set a few days ago that can do what you want.
I'm on Live 6 still, but this should work in 7 as well.

http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php? ... highlight=

It's a sound on sound looper made using simple delays and a return track, it actually works quite well, though Live 8's Looper looks FUCK-ing nice!

You can grab your first loop at any point you want, since the input channel is always being recorded. Also, you can use the first loop to create the tempo for the song, and you don't have to play to a click at all. Just map a footswitch to the tap tempo and tap along while you're playing, then "grab" the loop whenever you feel like.

Map a few buttons to the rack and live set, and you're good to go.
You can choose how many bars you want with one button, then grab the loop with another button. You can then record the output to clips in other tracks if you want, or erase the buffer and start again, lots of possibilities.
There's a lot of room for improvement here, and I had planned on working on it further until I saw Looper announced for Live 8.
I'd like to know if it is possible to be constantly buffering in Looper, it doesn't seem like it so far though.

Let me know how the set works for you, when I get some time I'll try to clean it up and expand on the idea.

It mentions a foot pedal. If I don't have a jack input on my controller, are there any pedals you can connect thru a midi port ?
