was wondering if someone could explain how i can save the changes/export a file i bring into ableton and edit. i dunno what's up but i haven't been able to export properly... it saves a clip with nothing on it.... i don't care about analysis files because i'm only putting them through ableton to edit the tracks to my liking (mostly cropping and volume) so i can run them back into serato scratch live...or are analysis files mandatory?
to make clear, i rip my vinyl through scratch live and NOT ableton. would it be wiser to go straight into ableton?...minus the time it takes to move the file from scratch to ableton & back to scratch. I like scratch because it is so simple to record and i can enter all sorts of information and it saves it to the original file and doesn't create a separate analysis file.
what i want to do is pretty simple and i don't understand why i am struggling, but basically when i export i get the analysis file and there is nothing on the sound file when i try to test it in itunes....
and on a side note, are there any recommendations as to what i can do to make the digital file reach its potential sounding best through ableton or other softwares. i know that normalising the track will bring the volume levels up without clipping. can that only, automatically, be done when i export? i understand i can do this manually, but otherwise is the normalise function only available during export?
thanks for your time!

Hi, have you selected the range that you want to export in arrangement view by adjusting the arrangement loop brace accordingly? When you get the pop-up to export, does it indicate a correct time range in that window? If that doesn't work, try saving your file before exporting...kamakawiwaole wrote:what i want to do is pretty simple and i don't understand why i am struggling, but basically when i export i get the analysis file and there is nothing on the sound file when i try to test it in itunes....
