CPU issues!

Hi, im using a G$ powerbook using osx, to play live using ableton 4. It seems that i cant use effects like live's reverb, or even the impulse drum machine during a live set, as the CPU usage gets too high and results in audio droo outs. Is this the same for anyone else? any tips??

ps - im using the internal soundcard

i also have the latency as high as possible

any tips greatly appreciated

Witch version of live 4 are you using? and witch Osx?

OSX 10.3.6

G4 powerbook memory 512MB, bus speed 167 MHZ, 1GHZ

using latest version live 4.4

make sure you set the 'processor performance' in 'options' in 'energy saver' in 'system preferences' to 'highest'. It is set to automatic by default.
