MIDI sync - Live6 text file fix?

Post by jbuonacc » Tue Jan 20, 2009 3:31 am

a month or so ago i was browsing the forum and saw someone mention a possible MIDI sync fix using a text file that had to be created and put into the Live7 preferences(?) folder. searching now i can't find any mention of it. any ideas?

having a hell of a time trying to get Live in sync with external gear, i thought i might give this a shot.

I've seen that post too, and it's really frustrating that I can't find it via the search function either. I seem to recall that one of the Ableton support people answered in that thread so may try asking in the Bugs and Problems forum, maybe the right person will see it.

if for some reason you haven't contacted support about this issue, here's what they told me to do... which worked by the way.
they sent me an "options.txt" file to add to my C:\Documents and Settings\***\Application Data\Ableton\Live 7.0.7\Preferences folder. the file contains the following line:
Code:
-_Live6ClockOutputCompatibility

you can create a txt file, add this line and save it/add it to your Preference folder.

cool shit, thnx Ableton

* When Live is running as the MIDI clock master, the first two sent MIDI clock messages could have the same time stamp. An Options.txt entry called Live6ClockOutputCompatibility’ brings back the old behavior if required.
