I've been getting this annoying spike in the cpu meter about every 1 or 2 minutes and it causes the sound and everything to cut out...... I've tried about everything, but i can't seem to figure it out......in audio preferences...my settings are:
sample rate 44100
2048 sample buffer size
driver error comp. ...set at 7 right now, but i've tried anywhere from 3 to 20.
running with a motu traveler
windows xp 3 gigs of ram
live 7.14
any help is really appreciated:)
thank you!!!
SPIKES in the CPU meter:(
Have they just started to happen? If so what changes have you made lately?
If on PC, have you disabled your wireless if you have one?
Have you disabled any Virus software etc?
Have you DL'd DPC Latency Checker and checked to see if the spikes occur when Live is not open?

Hi. I am intrigued in your question. Do P4's have a 'tick' or something? I have a P4 that exhibits this behavior no matter what I do.jamester wrote:Is your processor a Pentium 4?

Yes, P4's had a terrible problem with denormalisation - I had this problem with my old computer, and Live really suffered from it.gjm wrote:Hi. I am intrigued in your question. I urge anyone with a P4 to read this:

...and then grab those fish fillet VST's if you don't already have them, they're excellent!
