Too bad most of Daft Punk's vocals are run through a talkbox, not a voco.
Thanks. And no, Chers´s vocal were not vocoder either
But try to say "Intergalactic planetary, planetary intergalactic" and you might remember a track that did in fact feature an analogue vocoder.

Can anybody confirm the maximum number of bands Live's Vocoder can use? I hope it goes above the 20 shown in the video.

Pay close attention to the 'depth' control and the 'enhance' button. They are not there just to sound fancy in writing or to fill a void in the GUI layout, but instead make sure you can get a good clear sound from modulators & carriers where an ordinary vocoder wouldn't let you.

things go out of fashion. Vocoders are no different. I personally love vocoders, but more for creating a weird vocal than for using it to pitch shift a vocal melody. Aphex twin used quite alot in his new tuss stuff, so it cant be all that uncool....right? or is he uncool now... i can never keep up.

Well..I'm a vocoder fan..cant wait to experiment with one that I know was made for the DAW I am using. Although, I really never thought it was worth buying as a dedicated plug and the frebies I tried never really matched up to my expectations.

Excatly how I feel. Good with drum sounds, noises, guitars, etc. I probably won't be putting vocals through it, but you never know.

You can never have too many unique tools. If you think of vocoders as just the "robot voice" effect, you aren't creative enough to think of all the possibilities it offers sound designers.
