What I would suggest is one the following:
Create a new project in Live and assign all the controls you want to use. Save this project with an intuitive name, like New Project Template, My Wicked Ass New Track, etc. Use this as a template for every new project, making sure that the first thing you do is a Save As when starting a new project.
Alternatively, assign the controls as you wish and go into preferences. You can then save it as your default template on the Files/Folders tab. I personally don't do this, as I have a tendency to want to always add things to my templates and they grow in complexity until all I have to do is click record and awesome spills out of my monitors then Live crashes because I placed the pooch in a fully-screwed configuration and I have to start over. I have cheated myself out of countless Grammy awards and hot sex with groupies doing this.
Either way I am certain you will display more wisdom in your choices than I have, as it's highly unlikely you hear voices and twitch uncontrollably. Shut up, I told him alreadddddy!!
