Song Structure, Song Maps, Making Songs from Parts

Post by platypus » Wed Jan 21, 2009 9:12 pm

Since I read the great Mixing Thread http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?t=86956 tips and tricks, thought I'd post this here:

I am looking for posts/websites/info about on how others approach assembling progressions and structures in electronic/dance music from different parts, beats, elements and ideas, including tips and tricks on:
drops
build-ups
break-downs,etc

While I know that alot can be learned about form from critical listening of great tracks, I'd like to also see if there is anything written on how others approach the challenge of making a song from multiple parts.

Thanks!
