Delay Compensation on record

Post by poly915 » Sat Dec 11, 2004 10:34 am

Like many users, I'd like to see delay compensation as an added feature. It should be available in real time and allow for user assignable + & - delays in milliseconds and MIDI ticks (like Logic and others) per track.

It should also be assignable on a recording track to eliminate plug-in and routing delays. I'm sick and tired of editing loops I've recorded in Live to make them line up with Live's bars & beats.

if you take a track and apply some plug ins (or send the track to some external processor) and record the result, there is a delay on the audio. the latency controls in the preferences do not affect this. it only affects the monitoring latency.

Yeah, but delay compensation for recording and plugin delay compensation are 2 seperate things. I thought you were asking for the first. Anyway, you can adjust the recording delay for external sources and Ableton confirmed that PDC is on their to-do list.

Cheers

Where in the manual does it say anything about recording delay compensation?

overall latency refers to monitoring, not recording
