help noob

Hi is it possiblke to set ableton back to all original settings, I had been playing about using the pentatonic scale on the "DA Hornet" plugin and have switched back to using live LE 7's own midi instruments, they dont seem very loud! is it just me or have I touched a key that would affect some setting? the VU bars or whatever they are called only come about a third of the way up on the synth lead digitalica setting while bombardier nearly redlines, I guess some instruments are louder than others. is there a noob forum for people to ask silly questions?? this would be idea, I do read the book and am tackling the program a bit at a time, the lessons are v good. also is it possible to download new scales from anywhere for the scale plugin, i did find one link in a forum but the page was dead. thanks.......paul
